Younger models will be bought worse than expected.
Analysts at UBS, according to Bloomberg, this week published one of the most pessimistic forecasts about the extent of the influence of Chinese events on Apple’s ability to ship its smartphones in the current half of the year. They believe that the lockdowns in Zhengzhou and the general economic downturn will force the company to reduce production of all versions of the iPhone 14 from 92 to 76 million units, or by almost 20% from the original plan.

The source believes that demand will also decrease for the lower models of the iPhone 14 series, so not only the lockdown in Zhengzhou, where the bulk of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are produced, will affect Apple’s production plans in the current quarter. Foxconn may reduce its share in the supply chain of these models from the current 75% to 65% next year, as part of the orders could be transferred to Pegatron and Luxshare.
