The online publication Bulletin of the Film Distributor reported that the share of Russian films in the total box office of domestic cinemas for 2022 is 50.16%. This result was recorded at the end of the weekend on November 24-27. It turned out that following the results of 11 months, the share of Russian cinema reached a record high.
Here it is important to make a comparison: in 2019, on similar dates, foreign content accounted for 79.49% of fees. And in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the share of foreign content left 53.88%, Russian – 46.12%. Last year, the situation again began to take shape in favor of foreign distributors – 73.36% of fees by the beginning of December.
