On Friday, December 2, the match of the 7th round of the Ukrainian Premier League will take place, in which Chornomorets Odessa and Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih will play. The game will be held in Odessa on the field of the stadium “Chernomorets”, the beginning – at 13:00.
The game was supposed to take place on October 14, but due to massive Russian shelling of the territory of Ukraine, it was postponed to a later date. Interestingly, the coaches of the teams – Vernydub and Grigorchuk – managed to train one and the same club in turn during one season – Shakhtar Soligorsk in Belarus – and lead it to the championship.

“Chernomorets”
We will not tire of repeating that before the start of the war, Roman Grigorchuk assembled one team for himself, and then was forced to play in the UPL with a completely different one. The result was natural – constant losses and the basement of the standings. Fever Odessa ceased in the last rounds. The line-up played enough, luck appeared, which was so lacking in previous matches.
The last defeat dates back to November 6 – then the “sailors” lost to Dynamo without a chance. But after that, an unbeaten streak began, which continues to this day. Minay and Lviv were overcome, and points were shared with Metalist in the previous round.
Now the inhabitants of Odessa are in the penultimate place of the standings, but it is premature to be upset. There are teams that look much worse in terms of the game, so a few wins and the relegation zone will be abandoned. It is worth noting that Chornomorets has the worst attack in the championship – only eight goals scored. Veteran Gladky is not impressive, and, in fact, there is no one to replace him. There remains hope for the winter break and the transfer campaign.
“Krivbass”
A similar tournament move, like that of Chornomorets, had Kryvbas. He, too, for a long time could not only win, but also score points. Yuri Vernidub increasingly began to recall the resignation.
But the team’s management believed in the coach and, it seems, was right. The game of the team began to take on the battle shape typical of Vernidub, and then the victories also caught up. At the moment, in the last four matches, Kryvyi Rih won three victories, losing only once – to Metalist 1925.
Of course, the victory of the last round over Dnipro-1 stands apart. The predecessor of the sports clubs, Dnipro, had close relations with Kryvbas, the teams had an interesting name, Odnoklassniki. However, Kryvbas did not have any sentiments for the current Dnipro team, which is the main contender for the championship – a 2-1 victory and the leader’s first defeat.
In this game, the main defensive midfielder Banada received the fourth yellow card. Yuriy Vernidub will puzzle over who to replace him, but, perhaps, he will turn to the services of Khomchenovsky’s station wagon. Also in the center of defense we will expect the head coach’s son to come out, who in a number of recent matches sat on the bench, but in this, obviously, he will be a duet with Stetskov.
