Google continues to support Ukraine. It was recently reported that the tech giant allocated €3 million for 5,000 scholarships to educate Ukrainians. And now the company announced a new grant of $2 million, designed to teach Ukrainians digital literacy. The search giant also spoke about the support of the Google.org Fellowship program of the Eastern Europe Foundation, which will cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Development in order to promote the development and scaling of the Diya.Tsifrovaya osvita project.
It is noted that Google.org Fellows members will help develop new learning content and AI-based personalized learning programs for 6 months, as well as a system of recommendations for users on job opportunities. The purpose of the platform is to teach digital literacy to 2 million Ukrainians. The platform also intends to help in finding employment for up to 600 thousand internally displaced persons.
Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov added that Google is providing 50,000 Workspace licenses to the Ukrainian government. He noted that Google services have already become part of the infrastructure of the Ministry of Digital Development, and now they will be available to other government agencies. Authorities will be able to use Google Workspace licenses free of charge for one year.
