In early 2021, MachineGames announced that it was working on a game based on the Indiana Jones franchise. There are few details about the project – it has neither an official name, nor a teaser, nor a planned release date, nor announced platforms. Previously, it was only reported that the project itself will not use films as the basis for the plot, and it is being created from an original script by Todd Howard.
As it became known, the Studio MachineGames has acquired a lead designer to work on a game based on the Indiana Jones franchise. Jens Andersson, who previously served as lead game designer on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness, has been appointed Game Design Director. According to the VGC portal, more than 20 employees who previously had a connection with The Darkness are currently working on the Indiana Jones game.
It is worth saying that Jens Andersson has already tried to work on a project about Indiana Jones. In 2009, he agreed to move to San Francisco to work with LucasArts on a project about the legendary archaeologist, but the project was later cancelled.
