Leader of the Ukrainian biathlon team Dmitry Pidruchny told why he will miss the final starts at the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiologt.
“Unfortunately, my knee injury worsened again yesterday, although for the last five days before the relay I didn’t feel any pain at all and hoped that the injury was over.
Yesterday, during the maximum load, it manifested itself again. After consulting with the coach, doctor and physiotherapist, we made a common decision that I would no longer start in Kontiolahta.
I’ll have an examination soon. Only after it will I know when I can return to the competitive rhythm. I hope that it will be in the near future,” he said.
