Yesterday was the release of the horror The Callisto Protocol from the creator of Dead Space Glenn Scofield. The game takes place in the future, on a space prison. One of the prisoners encounters terrible biophage monsters and, in the course of his confrontation with them, unravels a tangle of secrets.
Many people compare The Callisto Protocol with Dead Space, but that’s what attracted the audience to the project. After the release on December 1, the first reviews and feedback from ordinary players appeared. Critics are generally satisfied with the game, its atmosphere and intense battles. The average score on Metacritic is 75 points out of 100. But ordinary players seriously criticize the computer version. At the moment, Steam is dominated by negative reviews. The main complaint concerns poor optimization with jumpy frame rates, friezes, crashes and other problems. At the same time, both the owners of the GeForce RTX 3060 and the owners of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti complain. Some players call the combat system monotonous and simpler compared to Dead Space.
The developers also revealed plans to support the game until the summer of 2023. Recall that at the start of the game received an extended edition of the Digital Deluxe Edition and a season pass.
The first major update will be released on February 7th, with Hard Mode and New Game+ available to all players. As part of the season pass, you can get additional skins and death animations in February, the Contagion bundle with a new mode and a new survival map will start in March, and the Riot bundle will be released even later. And in the summer, a plot addition is promised, also as part of the season pass.
