As Sega announced, owners of the open-world platformer “Sonic Frontiers” can look forward to various new content in the coming year. These are made available in the form of a total of three free download packages.
At the beginning of last month, the developers of Sonic Team ushered in a new era with “Sonic Frontiers”, paving the way for the adventures of the world’s fastest hedgehog into the open-world platformer genre.
As Sega announced, the launch in November is far from over. Instead, additional content is already being worked on that will be added to “Sonic Frontiers” in the course of 2023. According to the official announcement, players can look forward to a total of three download packages that will be released free of charge next year and enrich “Sonic Frontiers” with one or the other innovation.
New story content and modes
With regard to the content that is to be offered in detail, Sonic Team and Sega have not yet gone into specific detail and instead only roughly outlined the planned content. On the one hand, new story content is planned, with which the game world and the history of “Sonic Frontiers” will be expanded. There is also talk of new modes and exclusive playable characters.
According to the Japanese publisher, the first DLC will offer a juke box mode, a photo mode and new challenge modes, while the second wave of content will add open zone challenges, a new koko and other content. The final point is the third content update, which once again brings more story content and new playable characters to the open-world platformer.
