As usual, the 9To5Google site was able to analyze the APK file of the latest version from the Google Play Store. The store will soon have two surprises in store for us, but these functions are disabled for the moment. Google could start the rollout very soon.
Better tracking of downloads
The first change is visual, it allows you to follow the downloading of applications or updates through a bubble at the bottom of the screen.

No more going to notifications to find out if the Play Store has finished installing an app.
The site does not specify if the bubble remains on the screen when leaving the Play Store, but it can be assumed in the manner of other application bubbles in Android.
Automatic application archiving
The other novelty is directly inspired by iOS. This is the automatic archiving of unused applications. The system will be able to keep saved data, for example, your progress in a game, but delete the rest of an application that you haven’t used for a long time. The goal: to save storage space if your device is full.
Once an application has been archived, it is possible to reinstall it from the Google Play Store, which then indicates a “restore” button rather than “install”. As expected, reinstalling restores your data and progress. It is therefore totally transparent for the user.
A particularly practical function for entry-level smartphones if you run out of storage.
