12/03/2022 at 12:30 p.m. by Jusuf Hatic – After the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042 a little over a year ago, the shooter wants to make positive headlines again and is offering free trial days for PC and Xbox players.
The start of the third season of Battlefield 2042 is a few days old – a good reason for developer studio DICE and publisher Electronic Arts to make the online shooter available free of charge for a few days. However, Playstation owners are looking into the tube for the time being – the free days for Battlefield 2042 are initially only for PC players and owners of an Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One. Whether the delay is related to Sony’s recent statement that the Battlefield series is far less important than the Call of Duty series cannot be conclusively judged.
However, the free access event itself was not deterred by the circumstances and started on December 1st at 7 p.m. German time on Steam. The promotion itself is valid until December 5th. During this period, participating players will have full access to all Battlefield 2042 content (buy now €29.99). These include a total of 15 cards, four of which have been completely redesigned since the failed launch in November 2021. In addition, over 100 gadgets and weapons and 13 specialists join the available content.
Players who find Battlefield 2042 convincing enough to buy the game after the free trial period has ended will have the opportunity to seamlessly carry over the progress they have made after the purchase. Playstation players will have to be patient – an equivalent free campaign will only start on December 16, but it should take place two days longer.
