Fake baby bump: smuggler is “pregnant” with iPhones and CPUs

The year 2022 has a bizarre anecdote richer when it comes to technology and gadgets. In Guangdong, China, a woman was caught secretly attempting to smuggle all kinds of expensive electronics across the border. She chose an extremely creative approach that was intended to prevent security personnel from becoming suspicious. However, their calculation did not really work out, because the lady was caught red-handed during the security check. What the officials found in the woman should not have been commonplace.

Security camera footage in the MyDrivers report shows a young woman walking towards a security checkpoint. The scene took place at the airport in Zhuhai, a tourist city in China’s most populous province of Guangdong. Her tight, light brown dress stands out conspicuously, the lady is obviously in an advanced stage of her pregnancy.

When asked about this, she replies to the security staff that she is actually five or six months pregnant. But something doesn’t seem right about the woman. She moves much too lightly for someone who is obviously heavily pregnant. A detailed security check finally brings certainty.

Under her dress, the woman wears a silicone baby bump. Inside, security personnel found over 200 Alder Lake-type CPUs. These chips belong to Intel’s 10nm generation of 2021 and 2022, which shine with both speed and efficiency. But that’s not all, the officials find even more.
