Like every weekend, we meet on NextPit for my selection of 5 free or paid mobile applications and games that caught my eye on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
I try every week to bring you the best possible apps that aren’t personal data traps or microtransaction nests. To my own findings, I also add the apps unearthed by the NextPit community and shared on our forum, which I invite you to consult.
From mobile games to productivity apps, here are NextPit’s 5 free and paid Android/iOS apps this week. We publish this selection every week, you can also consult my 5 apps of the last week.
Daily Diary: Journal with Lock (Android)
Daily Diary is a digital writing tool that offers a higher degree of security than a traditional diary that must be stored under lock and key. It is possible to set up a password, fingerprint or face ID to ensure that no one else can access it.
I like that there’s a mood tracker that tracks your daily emotions, based on what happened during the day that made you feel the way you felt. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Finally, this application also acts as a diary so that you don’t forget anything, especially during this festive period. You can back up your entries to Google Drive, and the pastel colors and easy-to-use user interface make it a joy to use.

Breathwrk: Breathing Exercises (iOS et Android)
This app will help you perform basic breathing exercises. It also includes more complex breathing exercises but you will have to pay to access them. Yoga enthusiasts and fitness buffs might benefit more than ordinary mortals.
You will need to fill in some personal information, such as your date of birth, your sex, your times of getting up and going to bed, in order to develop the program that best suits your needs. Of course, you can also take out monthly and annual subscriptions after the 7-day free trial. You will then receive over 100 personalized exercises for energy, stress and sleep, and new immersive courses will be added daily.
I advise you to test the free version and if you like it, the annual subscription could be worth it if you want to fully use this application to improve yourself next year.

Locket Widget (iOS et Android)
Locket Widget is an application for best friends, to whom you can send photos. This widget displays live photos of those you have designated as your best friends, right on your smartphone’s home screen! This lets you see what they’re doing at that exact moment, giving you insight into their world and yours into theirs.
The app limits you to 20 friends, so choose wisely, and best of all, there’s no pressure to have a follower count like other social media platforms.

Little Lunches (iOS et Android)
This is a great meal planning app in case you feel exhausted trying to come up with something new for the family each week. You will first need to indicate your place of residence before entering additional information, for example if you cook for the little ones or for the whole family. You’ll have the option to add another parent or caregiver.
Choose from three main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) to create the weekly plan after listing all available ingredients. For example, after selecting eggs, broccoli, beef, chicken thighs, potatoes, rice and green beans, the breakfast offered includes healthy gluten-free pancakes, as well as a basket- meal consisting of baked chicken and vegetables!

Angry Birds Journey (iOS et Android)
Angry Birds Journey is a game in which you will have to launch birds from a catapult in order to break bricks and move on to the next level. The mechanics remain more or less the same, as does the concept. I guess this is more of an update to attract new players.
New fans of the franchise may find the game entertaining, but how long that fun will last remains to be seen. Of course, there are the classic Angry Birds, but as with any self-respecting franchise, there will also be new birds to keep the game fresh. A perfect game to waste time on a long subway ride, if you want to take a break from reading your e-book.
