December 4th, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. by Maximilian Hohm – With the TAG5106, Philips has introduced a new wireless gaming headset for around 100 euros. The strengths should include the wearing comfort, the LED lighting and the sound. There are also various wireless connection options, which should enable compatibility across a large number of devices. So read more about the new gaming headset from Philips below.
The gaming experience stands and falls not only with a decent gaming PC that can achieve smooth frame rates in current games, but also with the peripherals. Without the right input devices, you can’t steer or aim in your favorite games, and you can’t immerse yourself in a game without a decent sound. In terms of sound, Philips has now introduced a new gaming headset that is wireless and equipped with a microphone and costs just under 100 euros.

The TAG5106 relies on 50 mm drivers, an impedance of 32 ohms and an efficiency of 101 dB. There is also DTS-X 2.0 surround sound. The headset can be connected not only via Bluetooth, but also via a dongle with a 2.4 GHz connection or via a 3.5 mm jack cable. This should make it suitable for a variety of platforms that require different connections. On the left side of the headset is the detachable unidirectional microphone, which should ensure smooth communication with fellow players. The headset is also illuminated with LEDs.
Philips specifies the maximum battery life as 45 hours. A 60 cm USB cable is included with the TAG5106 to charge the headset. According to the manufacturer, the headphones should be particularly ergonomic and at the same time offer good sound through optimized bass reproduction, audio clarity and spatial sound images. The ear pads and headband are made of synthetic leather and memory foam to ensure long gaming sessions in comfort. The Philips TAG5106 is already listed in the PCGH price comparison, but is not yet available. The RRP for the gaming headset is 99.90 euros, which could certainly make it interesting for many gamers.
