The HoYoverse developer continues to “capture” information sources that publish insiders. The studio is suing, trying to close the channels, get the personal data of the leakers and block the leaks in any way. This time, the court ordered Discord to give out the personal information of an insider with the nickname Ubatcha to the creators of Genshin Impact.
Ubatcha is one of the most active whistleblowers in the Genshin Impact community with over 465.3K followers. This number of people makes the distribution of illegally obtained content even easier than usual. He is also heavily involved in one of the Discord servers that is used to spread many of the Genshin Impact leaks.
If the administration of Discord transfers personal data, then Ubatcha will most likely face a lawsuit. He will be ordered to stop his activities and will be issued a huge fine. In the worst case, he can be imprisoned.
Going forward, HoYoverse will likely continue to hunt down leakers and seek justice, even if it has to sue Twitter or YouTube in order to obtain personal data from sources.
