Since the Halo Infinite Winter Update arrived on November 8, 2022, there has been a wave of madness hitting the game from 343 Industries. Thanks to the tools of Forge mode, players from all over the world have begun to create crazier levels than each other inspired by other video game creations. Today we return to user BoBoGaijin’s Peach’s Castle map, set in Peach’s Castle from Super Mario 64. Here we go!
Ah, Peach’s Castle! Its hilly garden, its verdant trees, its little bridge leading to the front door, its radiant vestibule. This is a great place to wage war with the help of Gravity Hammers and Rocket Launchers, between Spartans! Created by BoBoGaijin, the Peach’s Castle map invites players to have a good time in a world beloved by Nintendo fans. For many, Peach’s Castle is reminiscent of the slap in the face when experiencing the sense of freedom offered by Super Mario 64’s real-time 3D.
In Halo Infinite, the map is already part of one of the most popular in Forge mode. What could be more normal, it is full of small details for connoisseurs. Here, the garden can be visited aboard a Warthog but also a Ghost. There is the cannon that propels adventurers into the air. The moat, deprived of water as at a certain point in Mario 64, can be visited. The vestibule is the most impressive part of the reconstruction: painting, architecture, graphic elements… it’s like it! Some open doors give access to the rooms where the paintings have been replaced by posters with the theme… Halo, of course. The creator did not push the vice to teleport the players in the universes of the paintings, let us specify it.
We also find the stairs that lead to the basement, as well as the small courtyard that normally houses the Boo hiding the haunted mansion. This is where the Spartans will find something to make themselves invisible, which is a perfect nod to the ghosts that normally inhabit the place.. Don’t look for the flooded part, it’s not part of the level. Upstairs, the room housing Bowser’s portrait is there, except that the painting is missing, and the trap has already been triggered. Above, the spiral staircases are part of the game, but they do not lead to the other floor with the paintings. They actually lead straight to the rooftops, which is quite different from the base game, admittedly. Nevertheless, the work done by BoBoGaijin is impressive.
Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The Peach’s Castle level can be visited by going through the Forge mode. He is currently part of the “popular” selection.
