The head coach of the Polish national team, Czesław Mikhnevich, expressed his opinion about the match of the 1/8 finals of the World Cup in Qatar with the French team, in which his wards lost with a score of 1:3.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game. We wanted to play differently than in previous matches. In the first half we had chances, maybe a few, but I remember Piotr Zieliński’s shot – it was our best opportunity at 0-0. The worst thing that could happen to us was a goal in the locker room. He made our task more difficult, and France felt confident.
In my opinion, the time for summing up will come. Today there are still emotions, heads and hearts are hot. I would like to express my gratitude to the players, staff, everyone who helped and supported us.
Our adventure ended today. We lost to the reigning world champions and title contenders this year. This match could have turned out differently if we had scored earlier,” Mihnevich said.
