Action Sifu will receive a film adaptation. This is reported by the portal Deadline. The film will be produced by Story Kitchen, a media company co-founded by John Wick screenwriter and producer Derek Kolstad.
Derek Kolstad is also responsible for the script of the new project. He is also listed as a producer along with Dimitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Dan Jevons, Timothy I. Stevenson. Behind Kolstad are the series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier for Marvel and Disney+, the film Nobody. He is also working on the Netflix series Splinter Cell and the adaptation of Just Cause. Johnson produced Sonic The Hedgehog and Tomb Raider.
The film version of Sifu will resemble a mixture of “John Wick” and the movie “Time” by M. Night Shyamalan. The original Sloclap game has sold over a million copies. It tells the story of a martial artist on the trail of his mentor’s killers. As the game progresses, the hero can die and be reborn a limited number of times at a more mature age. The game offered original gameplay with spectacular hand-to-hand combat in the style of Hong Kong action movies and was remembered by many players for its high difficulty.
