After yet another episode immediately following Eleven All Stars, a handful of streamers spoke up to defend their female counterparts. Among the various interventions, we can mention the recent one from Billy who made a proposal on his stream to fight against this scourge.

Harassment, a growing phenomenon on Twitch and TwitterA collective action by streamers against harassment
Harassment, a phenomenon increasingly present on Twitch and Twitter
Recently, a new debate targeting the lack of promiscuity between certain communities of streamers ignited the web, especially after the words and Clarifications from Player of the Attic. But, contrary to what one might hear, there is a subject that concerns a lot of users and on which it would be possible to form a common front, breaking down these “divisions” between communities, according to the proposal from streamer Billy during one of his recent lives. Indeed, it has been several weeks since we reported an alarming situation on the Twitch platform, as well as on Twitter, where harassment and toxic and misogynistic behavior are increasingly present.
Beyond Reveal behind the scenes of what they constantly endurethe representatives of the French Twitch have never ceased to alert users about it, even if it means making very big arrangements like streamer Ultia did when she announced to appeal to justice to fight against cyberbullying which she has been the target for more than a year. Since the episode of Eleven All Stars, the male sex has also provided support on social networks and on Twitch.
A collective action by streamers against harassment
After Amine’s speech, during one of his Twitch lives, aimed at reprimanding the behavior of some on social networkswhile calling for their responsibility, it’s streamer Billy’s turn to discuss this subject with members of his community. During this discussion, he notably made a proposal to take joint action between all streamers against those who contribute to these more than frequent harassment campaigns. Faced with Twitch’s inaction on this most important subject, the streamer mentioned the establishment of a list of banned users, extended to all content creators on the platform.

In the excerpt above, Billy explains how this collective action could work between all streamers. First condemning the behavior of some and their “double facet” (” There are guys who are obnoxious on chick streams and who are all nice on my stream, on Amine’s stream (…)”), Billy then explained that it would be wise for ‘the block list of streamers are communicated on a common Discord serverwith all the streamers who wish to participate, then applied to all streams (“It means a guy who is banned at Maghla, at Deujna, … Automatically, that bans him/them from everywhere”). The idea, as he summarizes it at the end, would be to set up a common front with heavy sanctions so that the main parties concerned, and the others, are much more aware of this subject and the consequences of their actions.
