Epic Games has released another major update for the Fortnite battle royale. Its main innovation was the transition to the Unreal Engine 5.1, which brought a number of new technologies: Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps and Temporal Super Resolution. All of the above technologies are supported on personal computers, as well as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S game consoles. In the case of the PC version of Fortnite, recommendations have appeared regarding the use of DX12-compatible video cards. In particular, the Nanite virtual geometry technology requires an Nvidia Maxwell generation 3D accelerator, AMD GCN or newer. In addition, the game no longer supports Windows 7 and 8 operating systems.
