Against the backdrop of the development of the single-player experience of Gwent, CD Projekt reappears on social media to illustrate the support plans for Gwent The Witcher Card Game in 2023 by sharing good and bad news for fans of the card game.
According to what was described by the representatives of the Polish software house, the support of Gwent The Witcher Card Game it is bound to stopbut not immediately. The standalone experience linked to the card game appreciated by all the followers of the Strigo of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will in fact actively supported by CD Projekt RED throughout 2023: the game will welcome new sets of cards and will be the backdrop for various eSport tournaments promoted by the developers themselves.
During 2023, CDPR will take care to enrich the playful and content offer of Gwent The Witcher Card Game with 72 cards in three expansions of 24 cards each which will be launched in the months of April, July and September next year. In the meantime, the CD Projekt guys promise to work on balancing the card pool to ensure the longevity of Gwent after official support ends.
Starting in 2024, Gwent The Witcher Card Game will transition to a community-centric approach – CDPR describes this phase as Project Gwentfinity. The new Gwent course will adopt a seasonal progression system with patches ‘managed’ by fans: CD Projekt will occasionally interact with fans to ask them what improvements, changes and optimizations to make to the game through updates.
