After a short teaser and a first trailer, The Last of Us series has been given a new trailer that should arouse the curiosity of newcomers and reassure fans of Naughty Dog’s production!
The Last of Us: a long-awaited series and adaptation
Originally released in 2013, The Last of Us was entitled to an extension called Left Behind, then to a Remastered version on PS4, before finally making a comeback in a remake called The Last of Us Part I on PS5 in September 2022. In 2020, the story of ellie and joel was completed by an even more ambitious The Last of Us Part II, inviting us to follow in the footsteps of not one but two distinct characters whose destinies are linked.
In parallel with all this, and within the framework of the will to adapt PlayStation licenses on the big and small screenit was announced that a live action series of The Last of Us was going to be made. Produced by the SVOD platform HBO Max, The Last of Us will begin its broadcast from January 15, 2023, at least in North America. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay will play Ellie and Joel, in a series that will pick up the story from the first gameextension included, but who will benefit from it for develop certain characters and parts of the scenario.
A tense new trailer
After a first trailer that set the scene and featured Ellie and Joel, HBO is once again raising the hype with a new video, released during CCXP 2022, which largely highlights the cast of the series. Tess, Sam, Marlene, Bill, Henry or even Riley appear during the trailer in which we hear the song Take on Mewhich also allows us to see different settings of this post-apo world, but also to see several infected, including a colossus. The tension reigns at the heart of this trailer with this headlong rush which is staged, the presence of armored vehicles in protected areas, an encirclement, flames and a very risky passage from roof to roof.
Cameos, and a distribution in France still uncertain
The finest connoisseurs of the game will no doubt have noticed the presence of two well-known actors in the world of dubbing. Because yes, it’s finally confirmed, Ashley Johnson (Ellie in the games) is part of the cast, obviously as Ellie’s motherwhich does not appear in games. Troy Baker, who played Joel, will also be there with an unspecified role within the David’s gang.
They will therefore be in month three to go from games to series, since the role of Marlène will be played by Merle Dandridge, who already played Marlène in games. At this time, unfortunately, we are unable to tell you when and through which intermediary The Last of Us series will be legally available in France. HBO Max usually broadcasts its content (Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon) on OCS, but the partnership between the two entities will end at the end of the year. In the meantime, you can rewatch the first trailer, as well as the posters that have been produced for different characters.
