According to the report, nutritional supplement packaging does not indicate the presence of roxadustat. As a result, Halep has approached the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) with a request for an emergency hearing.

In August 2022, Halep passed a doping test during the US Open. The illegal drug roxadustat was found in sample A. The 31-year-old tennis player asked to check sample B, but this only confirmed the violation of the rules.
