Europe believes that the consequences of the “sanctions” are not enough for it.
When Don Quixotes from the European Commission continue to engage in the fight against windmills, introducing more and more new packages of so-called sanctions against Russia with increasingly symbolic content that undermine their own well-being in the first place, the question involuntarily arises – in whose interests this EU authority acts. The adoption of the next, already ninth package of sanctions looms on the horizon, and today the Financial Times has received information about its content at its disposal.
Reportedly, financing of the Russian mining industry may be subject to restrictions. At the same time, curiously, the EU mentioned some types of products that fall under the exceptions, but the list of these exceptions, or at least their general focus, was not presented in the documentation available to the FT.
In addition, the ninth package implies a ban on the broadcasting of four Russian channels, although it has not yet been specified which ones, as well as establishing control over the export of dual-use products worth more than 2.3 billion euros, and strengthening control over the export of high technologies. This item, according to the EC, will somehow cause damage to the Russian defense industry.
