December 6th, 2022 at 4:41 p.m. by Valentin Sattler – With the “Orb X”, Cooler Master has presented a gaming station in which the player is completely surrounded by his gaming equipment. But the extravagant construction has its price: It is expected to come onto the market for 15,499 US dollars.
Most of the newly introduced gaming furniture, which is now available in countless variations, should hardly have any surprises in store for many players. It should be different with Cooler Master’s latest “Gaming Chair”: With the Orb X, the company offers a chair developed for gamers, around which a complete gaming setup can be built.
Complete package for gamers
As soon as you sit down in the chair in the shell-shaped gaming station, you can use the remote control to lower the display segment. According to Cooler Master, this can accommodate a maximum of three 27″ monitors. Alternatively, a configuration with a 34″ display will be shown. In addition, there is talk of a swiveling table for the input devices and an integrated 2.1 sound system. According to Tom’s Hardware, the station also offers extra space for a gaming PC. However, this is not included, nor are the displays.

Cooler Master promises additional features for the extravagant Orb X, a hub with four USB-A 3.1 and two USB-C 3.1. There is also talk of numerous adjustment options for the integrated chair. Various ARGB LEDs are of course also included – otherwise the station would hardly be suitable for cliché gamers. Apparently, Cooler Master doesn’t just have this in mind: In the corresponding presentation video, the Orb X is also shown in a company.

Regardless of whether the Orb X is to be used for games or for work, it is unlikely to be suitable for a private household. Because according to the technical details published by Cooler Master, the chair weighs just over 340 kg and needs a footprint of 1.88 m by 1.81 m. In addition, the price is not really suitable for end customers: According to PC Mag, the Orb X should be 15,499 cost US dollars. On top of that, you have to be patient until delivery: At the moment, the gaming station cannot even be pre-ordered. Instead, Cooler Master offers a mailing list designed to let you know as soon as pre-orders are taken.
