Minecraft and Doom have a long history of modding crossovers. Users have added functioning block building to Doom and placed Doom in Minecraft complete with weapons, level replicas and even his enemies. But now one of the modders has done a great job and has completely turned Minecraft into a full-fledged Doom-powered FPS, allowing you to tear apart four-legged creepers with pixelated shotguns while zombies and spiders chase you.
This is the most polished crossover mod to date, with new Minecraft mob animations that make them move smoothly despite their pixelated blocky legs. And every environment, including interactive elements like levers and buttons, has been replaced with Minecraft textures, augmented with sounds and new weapon models to better fit the aesthetic. Plus, there are keycards and doors that have been updated in Minecraft, while enemies have unique death animations and new containment states – the more you shoot zombies, the bloodier it gets.
The mod has over 25 weapons and not all of them are pistols. You can use rocket launchers, sniper rifles, and flamethrowers, none of which are found in Minecraft (although they do fit in oddly enough), as well as Minecraft’s signature swords. There are also some Minecraft style bosses, but the main enemy is zombies. You can download the mod from the link.
