Mobile role-playing game with augmented reality The Witcher: Monster Slayer (The Witcher: Monster Hunter) will be closed, as announced by CD PROJEKT. The project will disappear from the App Store and Google Play on January 31, 2023, and the servers will be permanently disabled on June 30, 2023.
The decision to close The Witcher: Monster Slayer was made at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of Spokko sp. z oo, a subsidiary of Issuer. It is reported that this is in line with the main vectors of the updated strategy of CD PROJEKT, which is to focus on its core business, implementing mobile projects in cooperation with external partners.
As for Spokko itself, which developed The Witcher: Monster Slayer, it will cease to exist as a separate subsidiary studio and merge with CD PROJEKT in 2023. The value of all its shares as of December 5, 2022 was PLN 32.4 million (approximately RUB 456 million).
