According to unconfirmed reports, “AEW Fight Forever” will not have annual or regular successors. Instead, the developers at Yuke’s may have decided to support the title with new content and updates in the long term.
In cooperation with the publisher THQ Nordic, the developers of Yuke’s are working on the wrestling title “AEW Fight Forever”, which will be released in early 2023 for the consoles and the PC.
As Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp reports, THQ Nordic and Yuke’s may have decided to step back from regular and annual sequels, respectively, on AEW Fight Forever. After the release of AEW Fight Forever, Yuke’s will shift its resources to working on new content and updates that will support the title over a long period of time, rather than continually working on new spin-offs.
An official confirmation is still pending
“Fightful Select has been advised that the work plan for AEW Fight Forever is a single release with supplements that evolve the game based on that initial release as opposed to yearly re-releases,” Sean Ross Sapp tweeted. However, he could not or did not want to go into more detail.
It remains to be seen to what extent the Fightful editor’s statements correspond to the facts. An official statement from THQ Nordic or Yuke’s on this subject is currently pending. However, with the release of the wrestling title fast approaching, we could learn more in the coming weeks.
