After buying Twitter, Elon Musk initiated massive staff cuts. But now those who remain will have to work for themselves and for that [уволенного] guy. And in order for employees to work more and be less distracted, some of them will literally have to settle down at work.
Several rooms in the recently depopulated Twitter headquarters have been converted into small sleeping quarters, two sources said. On Monday, employees returning to work in the San Francisco office found modest bedrooms with unmade mattresses, dim curtains and giant telepresence monitors. There is even a plant in one room. This is a significant improvement over the sleeping bag shown off by a Twitter employee in November.

The newly appointed bedroom features bright orange carpeting, a wooden nightstand, a queen-size bed (60×80 inches or 152×203 cm), a reading lamp and two office chairs. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, said that these bedrooms can be “from 4 to 8 per floor.” Another source, also on condition of anonymity, added that several rooms were located on an almost empty floor. At the same time, there was garbage in the trash can of one room, which means it has already been used. It is noted that the company did not make any announcements in connection with the appearance of bedrooms in the Twitter office. Probably the beds are for the remaining “hardcore” employees so they can stay overnight in the office.

Recall that last month, as part of the Twitter 2.0 initiative, Elon Musk urged employees to be “extremely tough” and be ready to “work for a long time at high intensity.” Those who disagreed with such conditions were asked to leave the company.
