Panda Global CEO Officially Fired Allegedly Sabotage

, Jakarta – Panda Global is an esports organization body based in the United States. Founded by Alan Bunney and David Wu in 2015 with the aim of facilitating and giving players opportunities to develop in the field of Esport. The organization has sponsored competitions for Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Splatoon, Tekken, and most recently the Smash World Tour.

Recently Panda Global was having problems with their CEO. Alan Bunney as the CEO he held since its inception in 2015 had to resign because he was suspected of having sabotaged by saying that Nintendo had canceled the Smash World Tour event.

The organizer claimed that he and Nintendo had negotiated to obtain a Smash World Tour license, but Nintendo denied this claim due to irregularities in the proposal submitted by Smash World Tour, Nintendo said that all partners working with it must comply with all existing guidelines.

Reporting from VGC, due to the accusations filed by him, 10 of the 17 sponsors registered with the agency decided to resign. The sabotage carried out by Bunney aims to protect the license of the Panda Cup which is claimed to be exclusive between Nintendo and Panda Global.

Nintendo as the sponsor denied Bunney’s accusations, Nintendo said that the license it issued was not exclusive. In Panda Global’s post published on Medium, Nintendo added that all the licenses issued were open and clear.

Smash World Tour organizers also suspect that the license was used to seize Beyond the Summit (BTS) broadcast rights at several tournaments partnered with producers. Bunney is claimed to have forced BTS to broadcast Smash World Tour. Unfortunately, BTS refused and planned not to cooperate with the event chaired by Bunney, this was conveyed by influencer LD on his Twitter.

“Alan Bunney has been doing Protection Racket for months and you should be embarrassed if the event is canceled because you failed to get a license.” he wrote.

Responding to the Smash community for the embarrassing act committed by Bunney, Panda Global’s management decided to fire Alan Bunney from the chair of CEO and followed it up with a statement he issued on their Twitter.

“In response to the response from the Smash World community, we immediately took action by firing CEO Alan Bunney. We are temporarily working with outside advisors to form an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to replace our CEO. For security reasons we will keep all IMC members confidential.

The purpose of forming this IMC is to help members who have resigned for contract waivers as well as support neglected members by finding a place either through Panda or other organizations. We ask all communities to treat victims well and not hesitate to report any indications of harassment or sharing of the victim’s personal data. “

In the statement, management also postponed the Panda Cup event for security reasons. Panda Global as management has also made refunds to all participants who attended.

Sponsor Decides To Withdraw From The Organization

Through tweets posted on Twitter, several participants from the Smash World Tour decided to withdraw from Panda Global. These players include Plup, WaDi, and Ibdw. Meanwhile Punk and Marine also did the same thing.
