Portal Polygon as part of summing up the results of the outgoing 2022, I compiled a selection of fifty of the best games of this (and not only) year according to the editors.
Despite the fact that the journalists gave the first position Elder Ring, the rest of the places even in the top ten were distributed in an unexpected way. So, the second place was taken by a text-based role-playing game Citizen Sleeper. On the third, there is an adventure detective story that has passed almost unnoticed by the mass audience. The Case of the Golden Idol.
Speaking of PlayStation exclusives, the recent God of War: Ragnarok took 10th place Gran Turismo 7 ranked 34th, and Horizon Forbidden West satisfied with 40 position. Of the other notable releases of the year: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in 14th place Cult of the Lamb – in 18th place, and Stray, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Splatoon 3 were in 31-33 positions.

Notably, when choosing the top 50 games of 2022, no consideration was given to The Callisto Protocol, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Dwarf Fortress and Need for Speed Unbound – the reason for their absence is that Polygon takes into account only those games that came out from December of last year to November of the current one in the course of summing up.
