An unusual two-in-one device from a well-known British brand.
Back in March of this year, Dyson first announced its intention to introduce the Zone wireless on-ear headphones with an air-purifying function. A special pad, which can be detached if desired, allows you to pump air through the built-in two-level filters and supply it directly to the user’s respiratory organs, although there is no question of any tightness of the “mask” or protection against the same viruses. Simply designed for 12 months of service filters can reduce the content of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides in the inhaled air.

Compressors operating at speeds up to 9750 rpm are also built into the headphone case, but an active noise reduction system is called upon to combat the noise from their work, which uses 8 of the 11 microphones available “on board” for this. The ambient soundstage is monitored at a frequency of 384,000 times per second. The noise cancellation system is claimed to be able to reduce ambient noise levels by 38 dB.
When the user does not use the air purification function, the battery lasts for 50 hours of listening to music, but with the connection of ventilation, the operating time is reduced to 4 hours. At the same time, the content of nitric oxide in the ambient air can be monitored through a proprietary application in a smartphone. Headphones are equipped with various sensors. If you remove them from your head, they stop working to save battery power. An increase in the user’s physical activity is also monitored, while the air begins to be supplied more intensively. Finally, if you lower the “half-mask” down, then both ventilation and music playback will stop – this is convenient when you need to exchange a couple of phrases with an interlocutor who is nearby.
