More than a month ago, ITC wrote about the filming of an episode of David Letterman’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” program with Volodymyr Zelensky in the Kiev metro. Today, Netflix revealed the trailer for the release and shared a release date of December 12th.
In the trailer, David reveals that he didn’t know what to expect from his trip to Kyiv. Months have passed since Russian troops left the capital’s outskirts, but a week before the visit, the city was bombarded with Russian missiles and drones. The conversation with the President of Ukraine took place in one of the safest places – at a depth of 90 meters underground. The movement of trains did not stop for the sake of filming. The famous American TV presenter admitted that he was filming a program in such conditions for the first time.
David Letterman has been with Netflix since 2018 and has hosted his own popular talk shows for many years. Many celebrities visited his programs, but the release with Vladimir Zelensky became the most unusual.
The streaming service supports Ukrainian cinema with grants; in its catalog you can find many Ukrainian films, including those with the participation of the current president of Ukraine.
“At the numerous requests of viewers”: Netflix returned to its library the series “Servant of the People” with Volodymyr Zelensky in the lead role
