Codemasters and Electronic Arts announce that the Podium Pass Series 4 is now available for F1 22 available and Audi’s special Formula 1 launch livery is also available in-game.
At the end of August, as part of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Audi announced its entry into Formula 1 for 2026 and at the same time unveiled a show car with a special Audi F1 Launch livery. Now this very show car is digitally recreated in perfect detail and with the latest in-game update in F1 22 integrated.
“There was great joy when it was announced that Audi would be entering Formula 1,” says Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters. “We are happy to welcome players from F1 22 to be able to provide the stunning launch livery as part of Podium Pass Series 4, allowing Audi to establish itself as a title contender in the virtual world ahead of its debut in 2026.”
“It is not a matter of course to be part of the official Formula 1 simulation three years before our first race,” says Henrik Wenders, head of the Audi brand. “Right from the start, our show car caused a stir with its striking design and the colors typical of Audi in motorsport. Wherever it has been used, the response has been extremely positive. I am convinced that our show car will win many fans in the virtual world as well.”
In the real world, Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from the 2026 season with its own factory team in cooperation with the Swiss racing team Sauber. The first tests are planned for 2025. At the Neuburg an der Donau site, Audi is developing its own engine for the new Formula 1 regulations, which will apply from 2026 and take a big step towards sustainability. The units will be more efficient than they are today, as the proportion of electrical power will increase significantly and CO2-neutral synthetic fuel will be used in accordance with EU standards.
F1 22 Released July 1st for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
