In early 2023, Intel will bring the Core i9-13900KS processor to market. Its main difference from the previously released Core i9-13900K will be the “ceiling” of the Turbo Boost mode increased to 6.0 GHz, which will provide the new product with an advantage in some tasks, including games. Today, detailed specifications of the novelty have been published on the Web.
According to the specifications provided, the Core i9-13900KS processor will be able to conquer the frequency of 6.0 GHz in Thermal Velocity Boost mode, and the Turbo Boost Max 3.0 limit will be 5.8 GHz. This is respectively 200 and 100 MHz more than the Core i9-13900K. At the same time, the nominal frequency of the P-cores of the novelty will increase by 200 MHz (from 3.0 to 3.2 GHz), while the operating frequencies of the energy-efficient cores will remain at the level of their predecessor.
For a relatively small increase in P-core frequencies, the new processor will pay with increased “appetite”. The Processor Base Power for the Core i9-13900KS will be 150 W versus 125 W for the regular Core i9-13900K. At the same time, the Maximum Turbo Power value for both processors is the same – 253 watts.
The official presentation of the Intel Core i9-13900KS should take place at CES 2023 in early January. Then the recommended price will be known.
