Early this morning, The Game Awards 2022 took place, during which statuettes were distributed to all developers nominated in November according to established categories. The atmospheric and very beautiful Elden Ring was the game of the year, it also snatched the coveted awards in the categories “Best Director”, “Best Role Playing Game” and “Best Visual Style”.
But the winner in terms of the number of awards received was God of War Ragnarok, which took six figurines. The Santa Monica project won the best in the categories of Innovation in Accessibility, Best Action Adventure, Best Sound Design, Best Soundtrack and Music, Best Story and Best Acting (the winning actor had very long speech).
It’s nice that the cute indie game Stray won the most important award for itself (actually, “Best Indie Game”), but the best mobile project suddenly became Marvel Snap, and not Genshin Impact, which everyone is talking about. But in the category “Voice of players” Genshin Impact became the best. In the esports nomination, the Valorant shooter was deservedly noted, but Splatoon 3 already won in the Best Multiplayer category, since the brainchild of Riot Games was not represented there at all.
