With Keanu Reeves, a real Hollywood star is already doing the honors in Cyberpunk 2077 – and in the future he will be supported in the “Phantom Liberty” add-on. As CD Projekt RED has now announced, Idris Elba will also appear in it.
At the Game Awards 2022 last night, CD Projekt RED showed a fresh trailer for the long-awaited add-on Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – which, by the way, also confirmed this rumor. The biggest news of the day isn’t the trailer itself, but rather the fact that another Hollywood star is set to make a major appearance in the Witcher makers’ sci-fi role-playing game.
The teaser aims to give you a whole new look at Night City’s Dogtown, the main location of the expansion, as well as gameplay insights and brand new additions. Above all, it also reveals new characters, especially Solomon Reed.
Actor Idris Elba (“Luther”, “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw”, “Sonic The Hedgehog 2”, “The Suicide Squad”) joins the cast of “Phantom Liberty” alongside Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand and as a veteran agent of the New United States of America. He seems to be the only person you can trust to complete a seemingly impossible espionage and survival mission.
Following the teaser unveiling, the actor appeared in a special video message aimed at audiences and gamers worldwide, commenting on the character of Reed and his role in the story of “Phantom Liberty”.
Separate from this, CD Projekt RED has not given a specific release date for “Phantom Liberty” beyond the general statement of 2023. The release is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
