Elon Musk has announced several innovations that are coming soon to the social network Twitter. So, the company is currently working on a software update that will make it possible to clearly understand whether there are restrictions in the form of a shadow ban on a user account.
A shadowban is a restriction that makes an account’s messages invisible to other users. It may also make it difficult to find a profile. Musk says the upcoming tool will also explain the reason the user is being restricted and provide instructions on how to file an appeal. There is no word yet on how and when Twitter will roll out this feature.
Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status, so you know clearly if you’ve been shadowbanned, the reason why and how to appeal

The announcement of the development of a new feature appeared shortly after Bari Weiss released the second part of The Twitter Files. In the thread, Weiss wrote that Twitter used “visibility filtering” (seemingly another term for a shadowban) on some conservative representatives. Musk, a self-described “free speech absolutist,” has begun removing blocks from several controversial users since buying Twitter, including former US President Donald Trump, notorious neo-Nazi creator of The Daily Stormer, Andrew Anglin, and other white nationalists.

Additionally, Elon Musk wrote that Twitter will soon start freeing up the namespace for 1.5 billion accounts. This may affect accounts that have not been active for several years – did not publish tweets and did not authorize.
