Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba criticized the words of IOC President Thomas Bach:
“Since February, Russia has killed 184 Ukrainian athletes. And now Mr. Bach is quoting Emmanuel Macron, who allegedly said that “sport should not be politicized”, and athletes from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus should be treated equally. Using sport to whitewash war crimes is disgusting.”
IOC President Thomas Bach said that all athletes should participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, hinting at the admission of athletes from the aggressor countries of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
