Bandai Namco is now providing us with moving pictures of the latest part of the King of Iron Fist Tournaments. After a first glimpse in September (we reported), this time there is a Tekken 8 Gameplay & Story Trailer.
As usual, the story will revolve around the Mishima/Kazama family. Even though Heihachi is dead now, the family feud doesn’t end. Jin and his father Kazuya are still deadly enemies, and this time Jun Kazama, Jin’s mother, is back in action.
Otherwise, some recurring characters are also shown in gameplay snippets: A visibly aged Paul Phoenix, his buddy Marshall Law, the wrestler King as well as Swede Lars Alexandersson and robot Jack-8 are back. A few of the fan favorites have already been confirmed.
Bandai Namco explains in their news announcement for the Tekken 8 Gameplay Trailer that the latest part now includes the so-called “Heat System” that triggers “aggressive attacks with special moves”. These can also be seen briefly in the video. At the same time, it is revealed that the focus should be on “aggressive gameplay”. However, there is still no further details here.
Tekken 8 will be released for Playstation 5, Xbox Series S|X and PC (Steam). A release date is still pending.
