The Dell XPS 13 is a benchmark. We also use it widely within the editorial staff of Aroged. A true paragon of the ultraportable, it is a good counterpart to Apple’s MacBook Air. Renowned for the quality of its finishes, its aluminum chassis, but also its keyboard, the Dell XPS 13 is a well-established formula.
Dell has thus updated its bestseller: for 2022, the model number therefore changes from 9310 to 9315. What are the new features? You don’t change a winning formula, so you have to admit that these are limited. Note therefore the integration of a latest generation Intel processor: either an i5-1230U or an i7-1250U. These offer excellent performance, avoiding heating.
That’s good, of course, but it’s the only change made by Dell for this refresh. It’s a shame, because the manufacturer could have changed in particular on the screen, still stuck on 60 Hz LCD, when the competitors switched to Oled and 90 Hz…
The XPS 13 nevertheless remains an essential reference and a particularly reliable product. Equipped with the i5, it is sold as a base at 1,299 euros. You can find it equipped with the Core i7-1250U from 1,359 euros.

The MSI Creator M16 is a somewhat surprising laptop PC, not necessarily in tune with the times, where featherweight ultraportables take center stage. It is more specifically aimed at digital creators.
And the least we can say is that the performance is there, with powerful components: Intel Core i7-12700H SoC, 64 GB of RAM (!) and an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU. All this works very well for 3D creation or video editing. The cooling system being very efficient, you will not have a priori any problem during creation.
But the MSI Creator is not free from flaws: MSI has notably skipped DDR5 RAM by staying on DDR4. Similarly, other choices are difficult to understand, especially on connectivity: no Thunderbolt port or card reader and the presence of an antediluvian USB 2.0 port.
The screen (LCD, 16 inches, 2560 × 1600 pixels) is decent and well calibrated as standard. We also salute the quality of the keyboard, very pleasant to use.
In short, a powerful PC, which is aimed more at a niche audience, but which lacks a bit of modernity.

Excellent autonomy A cool and quiet PC A sober and discreet look Available at €1,249 on Darty
For this last device, we fall back on Dell with its Inspiron 16 plus. This is clearly intended for workers. It is sober, efficient, powerful as it should be, and equipped with a large 16-inch screen in 3K definition, 3072 by 1920 pixels for a 16:10 ratio. However, it will be necessary to accept a somewhat disappointing maximum brightness.
It will be able to run everything you need in advanced office automation thanks to the Intel Core i7-12700H chip and the Iris Xe chipset. Hats off to the particularly efficient heat dissipation and very quiet fans. Another strong point to salute, autonomy: it goes up to 10 hours, which is excellent for a PC with such a large panel.
Dell’s Inspiron 16 Plus is therefore a perfectly effective tool to accompany a day’s work. With a respectable price placement, it may be an option worth considering if you’re looking for a big screen to work on.
