With “Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden”, the “Life is Strange” makers from Don’t Nod announced a new project at The Game Awards 2022. In terms of play, we are dealing here with an action role-playing game in which you are faced with the task of banishing ghosts and supernatural phenomena.
A few months ago, the Don’t Nod developers announced that among the projects the French studio is currently working on is an RPG.
At tonight’s The Game Awards 2022, Don’t Nod finally went into more detail, announcing that the title will be called Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and will play as a classic action role-playing game. Your path leads to the New Eden of the year 1695. In the role of the two banishers Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith, you are faced with the task of protecting people from ghosts and other supernatural phenomena.
On a mission, Antea was mortally wounded and transformed into one of the spirits she so loathes. In the wilds of North America, the couple is now looking for a way to break this curse.
Magic, weapons and spiritual abilities
According to the developers of Don’t Nod, you can look forward to an exciting and emotional story that has been provided with all sorts of surprising twists. According to official information, in “Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden” you explore a mystical world, solve all sorts of puzzles and face the fight against ghosts, demons and other dangerous adversaries.
In combat, you combine Antea’s and Red’s abilities, using physical weapons, magic, and spiritual skills. Furthermore, according to Don’t Nod, it will be possible to influence the further course of history and the fate of New Eden’s residents with your own decisions.
