Two Ukrainian freestylers at once descended to the podium on the first day of the European Cup in ski acrobatics, held in the Finnish Ruka.
24 year old Alexander Okipnyuk from Transcarpathia celebrated the victory by performing a triple somersault with four screws “screw – two screws – screw” and at the same time setting a new personal record in terms of total points – 125.22.
18 year old Maxim Kuznetsov from Rivne won bronze thanks to a triple somersault with two screws – “lay-full-ful”, for which he received a score of 103.74 from the judges.
Due to bad weather conditions (snowfall and gusty wind) the organizers had to change the time and format of the competition, so the winners were determined based on the best of two attempts.
