With a Steam-themed sale focusing on the best turn-based strategy games, as well as tactical RPGs, roguelikes, deck builders, strategy city builders, 4X games, and many other titles that fall within the broader spectrum of turn-based games, it’s a fantastic celebration of one of the genres, traditionally associated with computer games.
The Steam Turn-Based Fest runs from December 8th to 12th and is geared towards any game where you, well, take turns. This includes everything from the cold vibes of rural city-building game Dorfromantik to the alien-blasting XCOM-like Phoenix Point. The promotion includes both big games and new releases that you may not even have heard of, and cover a huge range of genres, as mentioned above.
If this particular Steam sale is news to you, you are not alone. A trending thread about the event on the Reddit General Games page got thousands of upvotes, with the top comment saying “I’m the target audience for this sale, but I wouldn’t have known about it if it wasn’t for your direct link.” Others share similar sentiments, saying they can’t find a sale anywhere on the front page of Steam where one would expect such an event to be featured.
It’s a little surprising that Valve hasn’t marked such a massive sale anywhere on their home page. There are also no other major sales or events going on at the moment that might otherwise receive priority. However, if all this seems attractive to you, at least now you know about it – all offers can be found here.
