Contrary to the long wait for the announcement of MK12 suggested by Ed Boon confirming the absence of Mortal Kombat 12 from the Game Awards 2022, there won’t be much longer to wait before attending the official presentation of the new project from the NetherRealm studios.
This was announced by Ed Boon himself during a question and answer session organized on Twitter. The father of Mortal Kombat thus took the opportunity to tickle the curiosity of the many fans of the historic fighting game series by offering some interesting previews on his next project.
According to the boss of the NetherRealm studios, the official announcement of his new video game will “probably” take place in the first half of 2023. But that’s not all. Boon himself also explained to all fans eager to know the launch window of his next game that “I shouldn’t answer you”, only to add ‘between the lines’, but unequivocally, the number ’23’ as an indication of the year of marketing of this mysterious project.
In community responses, the Mortal Kombat name is mentioned by Ed Boon informing us that “the Mortal Kombat 11 post-launch support it was the longest in our study. The next game may have even longer support.”
