Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is one of the most anticipated films of next year, so it’s no surprise that it’s on the cover of the upcoming issue of British film magazine Total Film.
The film tells about the life of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, scientific director of the Manhattan Project, which developed the first samples of nuclear weapons during the Second World War. Therefore, Oppenheimer, whose role in the film will be played by Cillian Murphy, is often called the “father of the atomic bomb.”

Murphy has collaborated with Nolan five times already (The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Dunkirk), but this is the first time he has played a major role. The director surrounds the actor with a truly wonderful ensemble of stars, including Emily Blunt as Robert’s wife, Kitty, as well as Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh and Gary Oldman. Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, the head of the US Atomic Energy Commission, who will be at odds with Oppenheimer.
