RPG action The prophesied received several previews of journalistic publications, which contain fresh impressions from the recent demo of the game. Mostly the press praises the magic, notes the potential of the combat system, and complains about the annoying chatter of the talking bracelet. We collected the most interesting details in this article. Edition Eurogamer praises Forspoken for their excellent implementation of magic, but fears for the battles – they seemed too scripted. It is assumed that the game will show itself best in freedom of action, whether it be exploring the world, completing side tasks, selecting abilities and other customization of the protagonist.
And Forspoken also feels like a clash of east and west – and it takes a special magic to make it work in the end.
IGN notes that Forspoken’s combat system has potential, but the first few hours of the game didn’t really impress. The big boss fight consisted of two difficult phases, in order to pass which you had to juggle all available abilities. At the same time, the journalist liked the first phase more, and the second seemed annoying.
IGN also criticizes the protagonist’s excessive use of swearing and an annoying partner in the form of a talking bracelet. And the blue filter, which represents the spread of filth in the game world, spoils the whole picture and does not allow you to enjoy the design of the creatures.
Journalist editions GamesRadar praises the protagonist’s magic and arsenal of spells, but remarks that he wasn’t that keen on the world and story. He also said that the game has some features that resemble Final Fantasy XVlike a rating system in battles and dungeon locations.
The publication talked about the latter in more detail. PlayStation Access. In these dungeons, the heroine will have to fight difficult enemies, and the main challenge will be an even stronger opponent at the end. For the passage of the dungeons, you can get valuable resources and reveal fragments of the lore. The journalist noted that there really are a lot of side activities in Forspoken, and the world itself seems endless.
The authors of Forspoken in an interview with the publication Gematsu talked about the fact that most of the side quests in the game are centered around interacting with various NPCs. The quests like “bring it, give it, and then go to the boss”, which some journalists complained about in their previews, were part of a specially created demo – there is no such thing in the game itself.
Forspoken releases January 24, 2023 for PC and PlayStation 5.
