The shooter Battlefield 2042 is currently in its third season – and in the course of this there is another fresh in-game event just before Christmas.
DICE today announced a new limited-time event as part of Battlefield 2042 Season 3. The in-game event is called “Battle for Nordvik” and will start next week on December 20th. The battle will then last for three weeks, with each week offering a new and unique gaming experience.
What is it about? Battle for Nordvik features a 32v32 take on the Take By Storm mode with fast-paced ground combat. There is also a 16 vs. 16 variant of the “Conquest” mode, which in this case is called “Retribution”. Finally, the final week of the event will see the more intense Breakthrough Mayhem mode, which can be played with up to 128 players on PC and next-gen consoles.
In the event history, you can earn ribbons on a weekly basis to unlock unique gameplay rewards for that week. In addition to these earnable rewards, the store also contains free bundles and two new paid bundles.
At the same time, a free access phase for Battlefield 2042 will take place. From December 16th to December 24th you can play the shooter on the PlayStation for free. You also get full access to the content of the current in-game event from DICE.
