2022 was a fundamental year for the world of video games but, although this was characterized by many very high-profile productions, we can say in no uncertain terms that this, which is now about to reach its conclusion, was also the year of future work from Kojima Productions.
On the night of The Game Awards, held between 8 and 9 December 2022, Kojima presented Death Stranding 2 to the whole world, or the sequel to one of the most important and thick videogame productions of recent years. The known information about what will be the next project to be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 are still few and limited to the “simple” TGA presentation trailer.
However, between confirmations of the famous actors present in Death Stranding 2 and beyond, in the last few hours some bad news has arrived about the lack of an important character in the sequel to the famous IP, which however go to provide a clearer picture of the total composition of the selected cast. According to what was declared by the voice actor Darren Jacobs, who actively worked on the first chapter, the Heartman character will not be present in Death Stranding 2.
This is a very important element in the overall analysis of the narrative of the first chapter, especially because of the touching story that directly involves Heartman and his family. Nonetheless, the voice actor himself announced the absence of the well-known Bridges member, without however explaining all the details behind this decision.
Therefore, the news that follows the recent start of the mo-cap phase suggests one glimmer of light on the entire project conceived by Kojima. Nonetheless, at least for the moment, it will be necessary to wait for the arrival of new official information to be able to better discover what Death Stranding 2 will have to offer us.
