A few weeks ago, several new DLC packs for Civilization VI were announced as part of the Leader Pass. The “Great Commanders Pack” is the latest additional content from this ranks.
The next DLC from the Leader Pass of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is now available with the “Great Commanders Pack”. In this Tokugawa (Japan), Nader Shah (Persia) and Süleyman the Magnificent (Ottoman Empire) lead their troops to victory.
The Leader Pass is another Season Pass that adds 18 new playable leader variants for Civilization VI. The content is provided via a total of six DLC packs that will be released by March 2023 for Windows PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), for MacOS (Steam and Mac App Store) and for iOS (App Store).
Officially, the contents of this DLC sub-package are stated as follows:
Tokugawa (Japan) – Tokugawa Ieyasu was a brilliant military and peace strategist. After the Battle of Sekigahara, he established the Tokugawa shogunate, ending Japan’s chaotic Sengoku period. His Sakoku Agenda was inspired by the law of the same name enacted by his grandson, causing him to dislike civilizations that conquered other civilizations’ original capitals.
New ability: Baku-han
(Base Game) International Trade Routes get -25% Yield and Tourism, while Domestic Trade Routes provide +1 Culture, +1 Science, and +2 Gold for each Special District at the destination.
(Base game) Cities within 6 tiles of the capital of Japan get +4 Amenities and +1 Tourism for each district after researching Aviation.
(Rise and Fall & Gathering Storm DLCs) International Trade Routes get -25% Yield and Tourism, while Domestic Trade Routes provide +1 Culture, +1 Science, and +2 Gold for each Special District at the destination
(DLCs Rise and Fall & Gathering Storm) Cities within 6 tiles from the capital of Japan are 100% loyal and get +1 tourism for each district after researching Aviation.
Nader Shah (Persia) – Nader was a slave who made himself Shah. He proved his skill as a military commander in many successful campaigns and conquests that made him the richest man in the world. Named after his elite infantry musketeers, his Jazayerchi agenda causes him to like civs with high land counts and dislike low-count civs.
New Ability: Sword of Persia – +5 combat strength when attacking completely undamaged units.
Cities not founded by Nader Shah get +2 Faith and +3 Gold on domestic trade routes.
Suleyman the Magnificent (Ottoman Empire) – As the tenth sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Suleyman the Magnificent personally led the Ottoman armies and implemented sweeping reforms of Ottoman law. He was also known as a poet and patron of the arts who ushered in a golden age of cultural development. As such, he likes civilizations that are currently in a Golden Age of their own.
New Ability: The Magnificent – +15% Science and Culture in a Golden Age.
+4 Combat Strength outside of a Golden Age against civilizations that are also not in a Golden Age.
Depending on the commander, the “Persia and Macedonia Scenario Package” or the “Gathering Storm” expansion are required to be able to play the new protagonists.
