Netflix likes to dig up certain franchises to bring them up to date with more or less success. In 2022, the PAF’s “strange” youth program is making a remarkable comeback on the SVOD service. It’s time to (again) dive into the colorful world of… Télétubbies.

A cult youth program
The Teletubbies (Teletubbies from its original title) is a television series aimed at young people and born in Great Britain on March 31, 1997. Broadcast on the BBC network until January 2001, this children’s program – mainly toddlers from 1 to 4 years old – eventually has no less than 4 seasons for a total of 365 episodes. It is therefore possible to treat yourself to a 25-minute episode a day of the adventures of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po for an entire year without watching the same episode twice. O joy!
On French territory, Les Télétubbies was broadcast from October 11, 1998 on Canal+ and ended on August 30, 2022. This show and its colorful heroes have made a lasting impression on the minds of toddlers and their parents to such an extent that a parody was made by Les Kassos in collaboration with Canal Factory and posted on YouTube on May 21, 2015. In short, The Teletubbies tell the incredible adventures in a world called “Teletubbyland” of four colorful characters with a television on the stomach and an antenna on the head… enough to capture all the youth programs within reach.
A return to Netflix
Few would have believed a few months ago in the resounding comeback of Télétubbies on our small screens, and yet, they are indeed back on Netflix with a first season released in 2022. This second reboot of the franchise after the one aborted in 2015 on CBeebies (United Kingdom) and Nick Jr. (United States) counts at the time of writing this article 26 episodes with an average duration of 15 minutes. Intended for your young children, this once cult program should bring them a few smiles and giggles between two “What the Fuck” moments in total weightlessness. Here is the official Teletubbies synopsis.
